NEW TO SAILING?
Here are some answers to questions frequently asked!
Can I learn sailing on a TIWAL?
Yes. The TIWAL is designed to be simple and user-friendly and it is an ideal boat on which to learn. The TIWAL comes with a setup instruction booklet. There is no need to tie any complicated knots or use any tools!
Where can I learn sailing?
Many yacht clubs and sailing schools in Australia have classes all year round. Or you can get a sailing instructor to give you private lessons.
What will a sailing lesson include?
Qualified sailing instructors will give you lessons on wind and weather, safety factors, parts of the boat, points of sail, manoeuvring (tacking and gybing), and getting on and off the shore.
I am a New Zealand sailor who learned to sail in the beautiful Malborough Sounds and then went onto represent NZ at the 2000 Olympics.
